Methi Muthiya Recipe | Methi Na Muthiya In Tangy Gravy





Muthia recipe came in my kitchen from Grandma's (Dadi,Nani) Kitchen. I am always making in winter Becoz fresh methi is avaliable but with gravy ... this Idea came form Kathiyawadi Food.Once for a change we went to Kathiyawadi Restaurant in Vapi and we ordered Rajwadi Tokri and they served traditional Muthias in Tangy gravy ,after that I tried at home n result was yummy!!!!!

Cooking Time         40min.
Serving                  4

Ingredients
For Muthia 
Methi                    1 small Bunch
Besan/Gram Flour 3/4 cup
Rawa /sooji             1/4 cup
wheat flour   3/4 cup
Oil                        1 /4 cup
Green Chilli 2 chopped
Fennel seeds/Saunf 1 tsp
Sesame seeds/Til      2 tsp
Salt                       1 tsp
Turmaric                 1/4 tsp

For Gravy 
Onion,roughly chopped      2 
Tomato,roughly chopped    3
Garlic,Chopped                5
Ginger                          1/2 inch
Curry leaves                    few

Spices
Turmeric                 1/4 tsp
Salt                      1 tsp
Red chilli powder      3/4 tsp
Coriander Powder     1 tsp
Cumin seeds           1/2 tsp
Oil                      3-4 tbsp


Method
Mix together the whole-wheat flour, gram flour, Rawa and Oil. Add salt,turmeric power,green chilly , fenugreek leaves, sesame seeds and saunf. Knead to semi-soft dough using very little water.
Take small portion of dough  and roll into cylindrical shapes of one inch diameter.



Pour two to three cups of water in a steamer and place a greased colander over it. I don't have steamer so I am doing in pan.Arrange the muthias on a greased colander and steam for fifteen to twenty minutes or till done. 


If you feel it's time consuming can make big muthias also and steam it,but frying time have to cut into small slice.

You can Store also for a week and whenever you want it keep it out from Refrigerate to come normal temperature and use dry or with Gravy

Meanwhile Heat a pan with a tsp oil add Ginger and curry leaves fry for few seconds,then add onion and fry till golden brown.Add garlic saute , Add roughly chopped tomato, and 1/4 cup of water and cook for 5-6 min. 
Let it cool and grind it to a smooth paste.
Heat Oil Add cumin seeds,add grounded paste Fry it for 4-5 min.

Add all spices mix well and add 1 cup of water and muthias let it boil  and simmer the gas for 5-6 min. Lastly  add 2 tsp curd and mix well.(For best Result cut muthia in Half and then add)

Serve Hot with Roti,Naan,Paratha....]




Note 
can have like tea time snacks also.For that just heat 2-3 tbsp oil add 1/4 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp sesame seeds and curry leaves , than add muthia,sprinkle 1 tbsp lemon juice and serve hot with choice of Dip.
